Media Studies NCEA Level 3
UE:This is an ‘approved subject’ for University Entrance. Standards marked (R/W) may be counted towards either (but not both) Reading or Writing credits for Literacy.
Background:Completion of Media Studies Level 2 with at least 12 credits achieved (3 of those being from an external standard). If you have not completed a Level 2 Media Studies programme you should consult with the Faculty Head/Head of Department regarding the likelihood of your success. Good essay writing skills are essential, as is the ability to communicate well, work in a team and meet deadlines.
Course Description:This course is designed to increase student’s personal confidence and knowledge of the technology used in the media. You will explore media issues and develop research skills. This course will raise your awareness of the opportunities available in the mass media and is a good foundation for tertiary study in a number of fields.
