Course Description:

Textiles Design Technology has evolved rapidly over recent years to become a very varied, creative course within technology. This course continues to develop textile technology skills required in conceptual design, freehand sketching and digital textiles. This is explored through researching and refining of ideas to answer a brief, including business concepts, for the production of a final outcome. Fabric manipulation continues to work with a range of fabrics, includes designing and digitalising on computers then embroidered with the specialised machine. Pattern adaptation skills are developed. All work covered forms part of the assessments throughout this course, which develop students understanding of textile design and the process of creating a textile design portfolio.
