Background:
Open entry.Course Description:
The Year 12 Construction programme consists of units from the Building, Construction, and Allied Trades Skills (BCATS). This is a very practical programme and students will develop extended practical skills creating projects to set plans. Assessment occurs through practical projects, written and oral tests, completion of cutting lists and photographic evidence. Unit Standards are completed on safety in the workshop, using hand tools and the construction of timber garden furniture. Students will construct small interior and exterior items for the home. As most of the Unit Standards require multiple projects to be completed, with on-going evidence gathered from these projects, successful students will not be awarded their Unit Standards until the end of the programme.Unit Standards:
