This subject leads to an approved UE course of study. Standards marked (N) may be used towards meeting the Level 1 Numeracy requirements.

Background:

Algebraic skills are needed for this course. NCEA Level 2 requires skills and knowledge from studying NCEA Level 1 Mathematics. Students need to have strong skills in Level 1 Algebra and Graphs, i.e. Merit grades. Students who have fewer than 14 credits gained from Level 1 Mathematics Achievement Standards, should consult with the Faculty Head about their likelihood of successful progress.

Course Description:

This is an academic course designed to prepare students for Year 13 Mathematics, either NCEA Level 3 Mathematics with Calculus and/or NCEA Level 3 Mathematics (General). Students intending to progress to Level 3 Mathematics (13MCA or 13MAT) MUST take this course.
