Background:

Art Painting NCEA Level 2, requires skills and knowledge from studying Year 11 Art. Students who have fewer than 12 Credits in Art (Visual) NCEA Level 1 should consult with the Faculty Head about their likelihood of successful progress.

Course Description:

This course seeks to encourage personal performance in Practical Arts. This course allows students the opportunity to explore a wide range of painting and drawing processes and techniques. They will have the opportunity to research and develop ideas in paint which will be extended into two board folio submissions for external assessment. The course is excellent preparation for future study in a wide range of tertiary courses including art, design, architecture, animation, spatial and interior design.
