Open entry. However, a keen interest in physical activity is required and the understanding that the course has many theoretical aspects.

Course Description:

The NCEA Level 1 course consists of four achievement standards that are all internally assessed plus a fifth practical standard which is not formally assessed. In each achievement standard different aspects of skill, knowledge and understanding are assessed. Students will be required to demonstrate a conscientious approach to their learning in both the practical and classroom environment. A positive outcome at this level paves the way forward for further study at NCEA Level 2 and NCEA Level 3 should the student wish to do so. Practical Activity - Participate actively in a variety of physical activities and explain factors that influence own participation
