This subject leads to an approved UE course of study.

Background:

Students taking this course should have at least two years of experience playing a musical instrument or singing. Confident knowledge of music theory is helpful but not essential to begin this course. Students taking this course will be expected to have individual or small group tuition on their chosen instrument. This is available through the itinerant music programme if needed.

Course Description:

This is a practical course and is designed to cater for those who enjoy making music (playing an instrument or singing in any style) and would like to further extend their musical knowledge. Note: Students who completed Level 1 standards in Year 10 will be able to move on to NCEA Level 2 standards and remain part of this class. Students select at least one of three optional Internal Standards
