NCEA students must gain a minimum of 10 credits from Achievement Standards (marked 'N') to satisfy the numeracy requirements for University Entrance. This subject leads to a University approved subject.

Background:

Open entry allowed for students who have 40% or more in the Year 10 Mathematics End of Year Examination. Those falling below this will need to seek advice from their mathematics teacher and gain approval from the Faculty Head.

Course Description:

This course is designed to prepare students for senior mathematics as well as developing general mathematical skills for everyday living. Students intending to progress to NCEA Level 2 Mathematics must take this course. Topics include:
