Background:

The 11ENG course is for students who have sound English skills. Students who struggled with Year 10 English should consider choosing the English for Literacy (11ENL) course. Students who are unsure of the best NCEA Level 1 English course for them should consult their English teacher or the Head of English.

Course Description:

This course develops the skills introduced in the junior English programme, including response to studied and unfamiliar texts, formal and creative writing, close viewing of film, and speech. Students will be assessed in a range of internally and externally assessed Achievement Standards.
