Background:

Successful completion of a Year 10 Drama course or previous drama experience with permission from the Faculty Head.

Course Description:

This course explores drama techniques, elements, conventions and drama styles through a variety of practical activities. The course develops an understanding of how a drama can be created and performed and analysing the effect on an audience. Students will be expected to attend group rehearsals and assessments outside of school time. Some assessments will be public performances. Several theatre trips will be organised throughout the year. Students will be required to see at least one live performance as preparation for the external examination. Students will be assessed on at least two internals consisting of devised and performed work and one external examination.
