Recommended Background:

This course is open to students who have completed Geography AS with Grade C or better. (Year 13 students can apply for departmental approval to complete AS and A2 Level in the same year.)

Course Description:

Geography A Level consists of two papers containing Physical Geography topics and Human Geography topics. These topics are more focused than the broader overviews given in Geography IGCSE and Geography AS, concentrating on specific physical environments and human processes. Paper 3: Advanced Physical Geography • Coastal environments • Hazardous environments Paper 4: Advanced Human Geography • Environmental management • Global interdependence In each examination candidates answer questions on two of the optional topics. Each topic consists of one structured question and a choice of essay questions.
