Recommended Background:

Completion of Year 12 Computer Programming with D grade or better. Students who have completed only the IGCSE Computer Science may apply to enrol for the Year 13 course with permission of the Head of Computing (Mr S Phillips).

Course Description:

This course follows on directly from the Year 12 Computer Programming course with the same topics but covered in greater depth. It involves advanced and sometimes abstract topics in Computer Science theory, combined with developing programming skill in a high level language. The programming language used is Visual Basic, however students with a good background in Visual Basic already, are encouraged to also learn Python, with the choice of language to use in the examination left to the student.
