Business A2 Level provides a comprehensive perspective of business activity. It is excellent preparation for those wanting a broad perspective of business or for students intending to study Commerce at tertiary level. The case-study style of the assessment allows students to apply their knowledge to making business decisions. It develops a student’s understanding in the following areas from an analytical perspective: •Strategic management decision-making • Business and the environment within which it operates • Business finance and accounting • Marketing decisions • Operations and project management decisions • People in organisations Business A2 Level will encourage students to develop: • Awareness of the economic, environmental, legal, ethical, social and technological issues associated with business • Awareness that business behaviour can be studied from a range of stakeholders including customer, manager, owner and employee • Critical understanding of organisations, the markets they serve and the process of adding value • Decision making and problem solving skills in a business context • Effective communication skills • Understanding and appreciation of the nature and scope of business, and its role in society.
