This subject is equivalent to a subject on the ‘approved list” for University Entrance.

Recommended Background:

Open entry to this course for students following the Cambridge International Examinations pathway. Students doing the Year 11 Physical Education course should have achieved at least a C grade. Those who have not previously studied Physical Education or who have poor results, should consult with the Faculty Head as to their like

Course Description:

This course provides knowledge and understanding of the conceptual basis, structure and function of a representative selection of physical education activities. It also provides an experience for personal development and a foundation for employment or more advanced study. Component 1 is a written paper to be assessed externally in a two and a half hour examination. Component 2 is a Coursework component in which the candidates will: Follow a minimum of two activities. One will be decided by the teacher and one will be decided by the candidate but both must be from the activity profiles offered. This list, although not exhaustive, is quite extensive. Candidates must enter for both components.
