Students undertake a robust study of literary texts in different genres: poetry, prose and drama. They are required to understand the texts beyond their literal meaning and recognise the ways in which writers use language to create various effects. Assessments are in the form of academic essays, in which students analyse and evaluate texts. Students may have the opportunity to attend cultural events linked to the course content at their expense.Components:
