Course Description:

Business Studies IGCSE provides an introduction to business. It develops a student’s understanding in the following areas: Business activity (marketing, operations management, financial information and decision making) Business and the environment within which it operates Business structure, organisation and control People in business Regulating and controlling business activity Some of the skills the course aims to develop include: Applying knowledge and critical understanding to current issues and problems in a business context Appreciating the perspectives of stakeholders in organisations Awareness of the nature and significance of innovation and change within business activities Distinguising facts and opinions and evaluate qualitative and quantitative data to support an argument • Recognising relationships between organisations, employees, government, owners and society •Understanding how the main types of businesses are organised, financed and operated • Understanding major groups and organisations within and outside business
